Inverleith Park Depot Design Report Now Available

Concept design inverleith report

We are pleased to share the publication of the Inverleith Park Depot Design Report, marking an exciting step forward in shaping the future of this key site within the park.

This milestone is part of the Council’s Depot Programme (2025–2030), which will see the relocation of maintenance teams from the depot by the end of 2025 / early 2026, opening up new opportunities for the site.

To guide this transition, the Thriving Green Spaces commissioned AtkinsRéalis to develop a RIBA Stage 2 Concept Design for the depot. Their work - now available in full - explores the site’s long-term potential while also considering short-term meanwhile uses that could activate the space during the transition period.

The report was made possible thanks to investment from the Place-Based Property Improvement Programme, approved in September 2024, and aligns with the Inverleith Park Concept Masterplan Report (2022). It is also part of the wider Thriving Green Spaces Project, funded by the 20-Minute Neighbourhood initiative, which aims to create more inclusive, sustainable, and accessible spaces across Edinburgh.

We invite you to explore the report and join the conversation as we continue to reimagine how this part of the park can serve the community in the years ahead.
